Viola Music Evening May 22, 2023

On May 22, our concert of viola music took place in the Concert Hall of the Tyumen Institute of Culture. This year's program turned out to be very diverse - our goal was to show viola in various ensembles.

The concert was opened by Maria Reznichenko, a second-year student of the Tyumen College of Arts - she performed the Prelude by J.S. Bach from Suite No.1, as well as two pieces by the Georgian composer S. Tsintsadze - Romance and Chorumi (Concertmaster - Laureate of international competitions Ksenia Kashcheeva).

Then the audience got acquainted with the music of the Czech composer Jan Kalivoda (a very complex duet for violin and viola, which is performed very rarely) - my partner on stage in this piece was the wonderful Svetlana Petrova (violin).

The concert continued with chamber music for viola and piano by Karl Reinecke (a great pianist and ensemble player, a friend of Mendelssohn, Schumann, Brahms, Bruch's teacher, but a modest and shy person and composer). In chamber music, viola and piano are equal participants in the dialogue, I thank pianist Yulia Magomedova for the piano part.

The concert was continued by the music of Reinecke's student Max Bruch. Together with an amazing, subtle, incredibly fascinating instrument - clarinet (Ksenia Tokareva), music was already played for viola and clarinet with a symphony orchestra (the orchestra part was arranged for piano by Yulia Magomedova).

Separately, we prepared a work by a modern composer from Rostov-on-Don Vasilisa Gorochnaya CYCLE FOR VIOLA SOLO "Letters to friends" (in 3 parts, with verses).

The concert ended with the "American" string Quartet by A. Dvorak (Part I) performed by students of the College of Arts - Maria Reznichenko, Maria Pankova, Timofey Tkachenko and illustrator Mikhail Molchanov (class of the teacher of the string department Tatiana Shalamova).

Congratulations to everyone on a wonderful concert, a lot of work done. We thank the audience for the warm welcome. Let's meet in a year at our Viola Music Evening!
